Most “best branding agencies in Los Angeles” lists rank studios without answering the first question a small business asks: what will it cost, and how do they charge? We checked the websites of 11 LA branding agencies in September 2026. Only three publish their prices. This guide shows who charges what, how, and for which kind of business.
Full disclosure: we are one of the studios on this list. LA Branding Studio is a small-business branding studio in the San Fernando Valley, and our packages and prices are on our Los Angeles branding services and pricing page. We included competitors we respect, and we stuck to what each agency says about itself.
How we built this list
Every agency below has an office in Los Angeles County and lists branding, brand identity or brand strategy as a core service. We started from the agencies that appear most often in LA branding searches and on Clutch’s Los Angeles branding rankings, then checked each agency’s own website for pricing, pricing model and focus.
One lesson from that process: directory data is not pricing. Minimum project sizes on review platforms are self-reported and often out of date. One agency listed at a $1,000 minimum actually sells a $4,995 monthly subscription. So every price below comes from the agency’s own website, checked in September 2026. If an agency doesn’t publish prices, we say so.
What branding agencies charge: the market context
Branding projects reviewed on Clutch most often fall between $10,000 and $49,999, and the average hourly rate for branding agencies in North America is $100 to $149, according to Clutch’s branding pricing guide (updated September 2026). Large, multi-month brand programs push the average much higher: Clutch reports a mean project cost around $71,650, spread over roughly eight months.
For a small business, that means two things. A complete brand identity under $10,000 is below market average, and you should expect a tighter scope in exchange. And any agency that won’t give you a price range before a call is probably built for larger budgets.

Agencies that publish their prices
Only three of the eleven agencies we checked put prices on their website. For a small business, that transparency matters: you know before the first call whether the conversation is worth having.
LA Branding Studio
That’s us. We work only with small businesses and sell three fixed-price packages instead of hourly time. The Signature, our brand identity package, is $4,000 and delivered in 7 business days from the discovery session, with 2 revision rounds. The Premiere adds a website of up to five pages for $7,500 in 14 business days. The Big Picture, strategy plus identity, starts at $9,500. Everything is designed in-house by the Royal Cheese team, which has built more than 180 brands since 2018. We don’t sell isolated logos; our guide on what a logo really costs in 2026 explains why.
The Bureau of Small Projects
The Bureau of Small Projects runs on a design subscription: $4,995 per month for unlimited requests handled one at a time, with an average 48-hour turnaround and unlimited revisions, pausable or cancelable anytime. The plan covers logos and branding along with websites, decks, ads and social graphics. For one-off projects, its site mentions a $5,000 minimum engagement. It is a good model if you need a steady flow of design work, less so if you need one brand identity and then nothing for a year.
SuperBrand L.A.
SuperBrand L.A. publishes three packages: a Brand Story package from $9,500, Brand Story plus Identity from $14,500, and Brand Story plus Identity plus Website from $23,500. Messaging and strategy work starts at $7,500. It is a strong option if your budget sits above $10,000 and you want the story and messaging worked out in depth before the design.
Agencies that quote on request
The other eight agencies don’t publish prices, which is the norm in the industry. Here is what each one focuses on, based on its own website.
Strategy and research-led studios
- Map & Fire is a brand strategy and market research agency: customer interviews, surveys, positioning, then naming, copy and design. Its contact form offers budget ranges from under $5,000 to over $50,000. A fit if you want your positioning grounded in real customer research.
- Hueman Studio, in Pasadena, combines strategy, positioning and design for brands, websites and branded content.
Startup-focused studios
- Pill Creative Studio, in West Hollywood and New York, covers brand strategy, positioning, messaging and visual identity, plus web design and SEO for startups and growing companies.
- La Visual, in Pasadena, works with pre-seed to growth-stage startups, with a focus on brands that help founders raise money and win customers.
Full-service agencies
- Brand Vision combines branding (research, naming, identity) with web development and digital marketing, including SEO and paid media. It sends a written proposal after a consultation.
- 20nine has a Los Angeles office in Glendale, with its headquarters near Philadelphia. It positions itself as a purpose-first creative brand agency.
Industry specialists
- Stellen Design specializes in logo design and brand identity for restaurants, bars and hospitality groups. If you are opening a restaurant, a hospitality specialist will know your constraints (menus, signage, packaging) better than a generalist.
- Ludlow Kingsley focuses on consumer brands, with clients such as Parachute, Groundwork, P.F. Candle Co. and Arrae. A strong reference for home, wellness and fragrance brands selling direct to consumers.
How to choose a branding agency in Los Angeles
The right branding agency is the one whose pricing model, process and portfolio match where your business is today. A great agency built for $50,000 projects is the wrong agency for a $5,000 budget, no matter how good its work looks.
Five questions to ask before you sign:
- How do you charge? Fixed package, hourly, monthly subscription or custom proposal. Each model suits a different need.
- What is included, exactly? Logo variations, color and type system, guidelines, templates? Ask for a written list of deliverables.
- Who does the work? The senior people who pitch you are not always the people who design your brand.
- How much strategy comes before design? If you struggle to explain what makes you different, you need more strategy, and more design won’t fix a positioning problem.
- Do I own everything at the end? You should receive source files and full rights once the project is paid.
If you are comparing quotes, it helps to know what each price level buys. Our logo and branding price guide breaks down what you get for $200, $2,000, $4,000 and $30,000.
Does it matter if the agency is local?
A local agency is not required, but it helps when your customers are local. An LA studio knows the neighborhoods, the competition and the way people here shop, and you can meet in person during discovery. If your business is in the Valley, here is how we approach branding for San Fernando Valley small businesses.
FAQ
Most branding projects reviewed on Clutch cost between $10,000 and $49,999, with agency rates around $100 to $149 per hour in North America (Clutch, September 2026). Among LA agencies that publish prices, fixed packages start at $4,000 (LA Branding Studio) and run to $23,500 and up (SuperBrand L.A.), while subscription models such as The Bureau of Small Projects charge $4,995 per month.
The best branding agency for a small business is one whose pricing model fits your budget and whose portfolio includes businesses like yours. If you want a price before the first call, start with the agencies that publish theirs: LA Branding Studio, The Bureau of Small Projects and SuperBrand L.A.
Most branding agencies quote each project individually because scope varies widely, from a logo refresh to a full rebrand with naming and research. The downside for small businesses is that they often learn an agency is out of budget only after a discovery call.
A focused brand identity project can take one to four weeks with a small studio, while full brand programs often run several months; Clutch reports an average of around eight months for the projects it tracks. Our brand identity package is delivered in 7 business days from the discovery session.
